Rais wa Bayern Munich Uli Hoeness kufungwa jela miaka mitatu na nusu

Rais wa Bayern Munich, Uli Hoeness amehukumiwa kifungo cha miaka mitatu na miezi sita jela kwa kosa la kukwepa kulipa kodi.

Kwa mujibu wa The Guardian, Uli Hoeness anadaiwa kukwepa kodi kiasi cha €27.2 million na kwamba kifungo hicho ni ahueni kwake kwani alipaswa kufungwa miaka mitano jela.

Kutokana na kifungo hicho, Hoeness anapoteza sifa ya kuendelea kuwa rais wa Bayern munich.

Nyota huyo wa zamani mwenye umri wa miaka 62 alikiri kuitapeli mamlaka ya kutoza ushuru ya Ujerumani mamilioni ya Euro huku akiweka akiba ya fedha zake kisiri kwenye akaunti ya benki ya Uswizi. Licha ya wakili wake kuiomba mahakama kutomwadhibu Bw Hoeness kwa sababu ya kujisalimisha kwake, mahakimu waliafikia kwamba Hoeness hakukiri kikamilifu.

Hapo awali Hoeness alishtakiwa kwa kukwepa kulipa ushuru wa euro milioni 3.5 (£2.9m; $4.9m) lakini baadaye akakiri kuwa hajawahi kulipa milioni nyingine 15. Hatimaye Alhamisi, korti ilibaini kuwa alikosa kulipa ushuru wa jumla ya euro milioni 27.2. Upande wa utetezi umesema kwamba utakata rufaa dhidi ya uamuzi huo.

Hata hivyo Hoeness atabakia kuwa huru hadi uamuzi wa mwisho kabisa utakapotolewa.

Kwa mujibu wa mtanzao wa Bleacher Report wa Wamarekani unasema baada ya mahakama kusomwa hukumu hiyo Bayern München ilitoa official statement kupitia website yao.

“After discussing the matter with my family I have decided to accept the judgment passed by Munich District Court (Landgericht) II regarding my tax affairs. I have instructed my legal representatives not to appeal the verdict. This corresponds to my understanding of integrity, decorum and personal responsibility. Evading tax was the biggest mistake of my life. I accept the consequences of this mistake.
“Furthermore I hereby resign the offices of president of FC Bayern München e.V. and chairman of the FC Bayern München AG supervisory board with immediate effect. By doing so I wish to avert further damage to my club. FC Bayern München is my life’s work and will always remain so. I will continue to be associated with this magnificent club and its people in other ways for as long as I live.”
