Coca-Cola Kwanza Mbeya football team humiliated their counterparts Coca-Cola Kwanza Dar es Salaam 4-1 in a competitive inter-company football match held at the University of Dar es Salaam football grounds. The winners were leading 1-0 at the breather.
The first goal came in the 38th minute when Deogratias Raymond, who was later declared to be the man of the match, scored with a close range after receiving a long pass from. Efforts by Coca-Cola Kwanza to level matters were always frustrated by uncompromising Mbeya defenders.
As expected, the match was tense and competitive based on the tug of words from players and supporters from each side that their team would win the match and lift the trophy, cash and above all the bull which was grazing a few meters from the pitch waiting for the winner.
The second half started on a quick note and after a couple of near misses for both teams, Mbeya team scored their second goal in the 52nd minute off a foul kick which was expertly taken by Aggrey John that sailed deep in the net, arousing chants from supporters.
Referee Athuman Kazi, awarded Mbeya team a penalty in the 56th minute after lethal striker Deogratias Raymond was brought down in the penalty box. The spot kick was taken by Baraka Michuzi.
The Dar city men got their consolation goal in the 71st minute after a good combination upfront before Bony Alex scored the goal close range drive. The winners sealed their victory in the 82nd through Bahati Msokwa.
