CRDB Bank has recorded a milestone of TShs. 108 billion pre -tax profit for the year 2012. The Bank`s steady performance was driven by three pillars of growth: Superior Customer Service, Innovative products and improved efficiencies.
Key Performance Highlights;
Customer Deposits: Up 8% from TShs 2,409.3 Billion to TShs 2,591.0 Billion
Total Assets: Up 13% from TShs 2,714.7 Billion to TShs 3,075.0 Billion
Interest Income: Up 39% from TShs 188 Billion to TShs 262 Billion
Interest Expenses: Up 57% from TShs 35 Billion to TShs 55 Billion
Profit before Tax: Up 112% Tshs.51 Billion to Tshs.108 Billion
Net Profit: Up 113% Tshs.38 Billion to Tshs.81 Billion

The CRDB Bank Managing Director, Dr. Charles Kimei announced a 113% increase in the Bank’s 2012 financial results to TShs.81 Billion from TShs.38 Billion reported in 2011. Addressing investors and the Press at a briefing today, the Bank` s MD said, “We had a great year with impressive performance in all our business segments.”
“For the first time in its history, CRDB Bank opened an intermediary in the neighboring country of Burundi, the subsidiary was opened in December 2012” said Dr. Kimei. “CRDB Bank also opened 6 new branches at Masasi, Tegeta, Tabata, Oysterbay, Quality City and Chamwino-Dodoma. The Bank also opened service centers at Sauti-Mwanza, Tunduma and Kasumulu-Mbeya, Mwaloni-Mwanza and Kilosa-Morogoro”

CRDB Bank now has a total of 93 branches including 13 mobile branches, 245 ATMs which includes 18 depository ones and 900 POS.
“As a result of this strong performance the Board has proposed the payments of dividend of TShs. 12 for every share from TShs 9 paid in 2011″ continued the MD.
Dr. Kimei further said that the bank will continue to leverage growth in regional economies, innovation in technology-driven products, support entrepreneurship development, leverage on our people skills to thrive in the competitive banking landscape.
“Our strong balance sheet is a good prospect for growth. We have been able to grow the corporate, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), agriculture, Micro-Finance sectors of our economies” said Dr. Kimei.
