The human rights and good governance officers are currently attending investigation

which has been organized jointly by the Netherland Embassy and Commission for
Human Rights and Good Governance under facilitation of Center for International for
Legal Cooperation(CILC).
The two-week training workshop being held at a Palace Arusha Hotel in Arusha, kicked
off on February 18 and will come to an end on February 28.
The workshop is facilitated by Paul Brookes a consultant, Ms. Adeline Tibakweitira
CILC Project Coordinator and CHRAGG Director, Mrs. Epiphania Mfundo
Other facilitators are Professor Martin Kuijer and Steven Mubiru.
Opening the workshop, CHRAGG chairperson Principal Judge (rtd) Amiri Manento
said that the main objective of the training is to enhance the investigation skills of
commission officers so that they may resolve complaints timely and efficiently.
‘’The training will enable the investigation Officers to differentiate matters concerning
state and private agencies’’ he said
‘’I therefore believe that this training will provide useful tools to enable CHRAGG
investigation officers to fulfill CHRAGG objectives more effectively’’ he added
However, he reminded participants that CHRAGG has a broad constitutional and legal
mandate of promoting, protecting and the preservation of human rights and principle
of good governance within the United republic of Tanzania.
‘’from this mandate, it is obvious that CHRAGG has a vital role of protecting the
inpidual against violation of human rights, all forms of injustices and contravention
of principles of good governance’’ he insisted.
The collaboration meant to build the oversight capacity to CHRAGG officials, where by
Netherlands Fellowship programmes funded the whole training.
